Kickstarter Week #1

The first week since the launch of my Kickstarter has passed. I'm feeling pretty good about things. I was a little worried in the beginning pushing my baby out onto the world, but the reception has been pretty good with a lot of people providing positive feedback. I was a little worried on the first few days and I've learned an important lesson. If you keep your expectations low, it's difficult to be disappointed. Fortunately, this little synth business has always been a pipe dream, one I've held close to the heart, but let's be honest. Some people aren't interested in the 8 bit rawness, but like all synths, it's just not for everybody. To all of you who've taken the plunge though, I thank you.

I've fielded some questions about coming up with a case. I've always had a plan to make one, not a specific one, more of a general notion that it was necessary. Remember, I'm an electrical nerd. I usually have somebody else around to worry about putting my glorious guts in box. Now, I have to be that guy too. So, what do you think? Should I go with the cheapest option, plastic? Or should I go high fashion with something made from metal? Plastic seems like the easiest option. I'm looking into it, so I'll get back to you with the options and maybe a discussion of the prices of the options. A good case can cost as much as all the guts though. I guess it'll be case optional?

I'm still tuning up the software. I'll be doing that until the day this thing ships. That's the beauty of software. You can change it without buying anything. It's the last thing I ever specify.

I added some more audio samples in a permanent link on the right, under Rockit audio samples. I need to record another sample of external audio running through the filter because the last one was recorded with the third revision which, if you're a regular around these parts, you'll know had a bit of a noise problem.

Cheers and thanks again to all my backers!
